This seminar will introduce students to the Intermodal Art Therapy approach. The approach integrates various media of expression in therapy: visual arts, drama, music and sound, dance and movement, storytelling and poetry. The similarities and differences underlying the specialized practice of the various artistic disciplines will be explored. Particular attention will be given to the concept and practice of intermodal transfer, de-centering, aesthetic distance, witnessing, dialogue with an image and creative response.
