This course presents students with an overview of the historical development of art therapy as a distinct therapeutic practice, and the contributions of major art therapy theorists and practitioners. The course includes an experiential component designed to link theory with practice by providing students with the opportunity to explore and experience the use of visual arts in a simulated therapeutic context.
