Art Therapy

Art therapy is a dynamic field in the mental health profession that uses art media, such as paint, chalk, crayons and sculpture, as its primary mode of communication. Art therapy is used with people of all ages, from children to the elderly, and it is especially valuable with clients who have difficulties expressing themselves verbally.

Art therapists are trained in both art and therapy. They use their knowledge about human development, psychological theories, clinical practice, and artistic creation to provide treatment and assessment to clients as well as to research topics within the healthcare field.
